Program Manager (#1348)

Our client is a leading global automotive supplier specializing in passive safety systems. With a strong presence across multiple continents and a broad portfolio serving major OEMs worldwide, the company is at the forefront of developing innovative safety technologies that protect vehicle occupants.

They are now seeking a talented Project Manager to join their team in Japan.

Major Responsibilities:

• Prepare and rework the total project plan including time and budget planning in accordance to internal project management process.
• Margin and profit responsibility for product / investments / tooling and development.
• Coordination of Advanced Quality Planning
• Leads the project teams
• Management of modifications during the development process.
• Organize and perform the gate exit reviews.
• Responsible for budget planning
• Responsible for meeting customer and internal milestones
• Total project cost control (Project budget such as Development, Tooling, Investment and sample product)
• Support acquisition and current production activities in cooperation with account manager

Key Competencies

• Project Management experience, ideally have successfully launched at least one program
• Experience managing QCD (Quality, Cost/financials, Delivery/timing)
• Managing review gates
• Experience in the automotive or supplier industry
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Additional business management education / experience
• English/Japanese language skills (Native level Japanese)

Educational and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering; or equivalent.
