Business Unit Director (JOEM)

A global Tier 1 supplier with a strong footprint in Japan is seeking a Business Unit Director (JOEM).

Role and Responsibilities:

Overseeing business development for a specific JOEM in Asia.
Core responsibilities involve overall business unit activities including managing teams, key functions, establishing critical customer relationships, and developing strategic plans aligned with global BU objectives.
Maintaining Business Unit oversight from initial business quotes through to production. Key challenges include managing customer relationships, shifting focus towards profitable growth.
Deliverables include achieving profitable, sustainable growth with an emphasis on quality.

University degree: business or engineering
Senior level sales experience in automotive with JOEMs including in a leadership position.
Experience with mechanical / mechatronic related components in Automotive
Team management experience of 5 to 10 subordinates
Experience working with stakeholders from multiple cultures using English and Japanese
Experience coordinating with multiple departments and driving cross-functional projects
Experience managing in a matrix organization that includes members from different cultures (multinationals)
Native level Japanese / fluent English
